Verónica Pérez Guarnieri obtained her Ph.D. with the outstanding distinction cum laude (University of Córdoba, Spain) for her work on legal translation. Master in Specialized Translation (University of Córdoba, Spain). Postgraduate Certificate in Translation Skills (City University of London, United Kingdom). Conference Interpreter, English Language Teacher and Certified Translator (Universidad del Salvador).
In 2016, she was elected as Vice President of the Professional Association of Certified Translators of the City of Buenos Aires (Colegio de Traductores Públicos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires), and is a member of ADICA, EULITA and AIIC, where she served on the Advisory Council as Coordinator of the AIIC-New Interpreters Network VEGA until early 2018, and member of the AIIC Court and Legal Interpreting Committee.
She authored ISO 18841 “Interpreting -Requirements and Recommendations”, published in early 2018, and coordinates at ISO a working group of more than eighty experts dedicated to the drafting of standards. She is part of the IRAM Subcommittee dedicated to the drafting of national standards in translation and interpretation, which has drafted rule 13612 on "Language Interpretation", a pioneer in Argentina and in the Spanish-speaking world.
